| FISHING REPORT FOR AUGUST 16TH
2010 Sorry for the lack of
fishing reports for the past couple of week's but things
have been very busy on and off the water. Stop in and
see our in store 20% off clothing special and our tent
special's (weather permitting). Enough about that let's
get on with the fishing report.
WALLEYES:
DAY - It seem's that the best walleye bite lately
has been coming from leadcore trolling plugs either on
the flat's or the deep shoreline break area's. The best
lures for this lately have been Salmo Hornets #4 & 5's
or Rapala #5 Shad Rap's. I am not going to say that one
area is better than another because it changes from day
to day. Just remember to move around until you find some
active fish. Or if those are not producing any fish I
would try slow trolling a Tutt's Long Line Spinner
(hammered gold and silver, and pink colors) with a
crawler, or minnow.
NIGHT - For the night time hours I
would head to the tops edges of the flats (20-23 feet of
water) or go off the side of the flat's into deeper
water and look for some fish there. This bite has been
picking up as of late so head on out and give it a try.
Try using a Northland Creepworm Jig suspended under a
lighted bobber. As always tip your jig with a leech.
SMALLMOUTH BASS:
The smallmouth fishing has been good in the depth's
from 2-4 feet of water around the reed's or 6-12 feet of
water in the shallow rock area's around Garrison, Myr
Mar, and the Brown's Point area's. I would try throwing
4 inch Berkley Power Grub's on a Jig (natural colors are
good as of late) or Mann's Hardnose Lizards.
NORTHERN and MUSKY:
The Northern and Musky bite has really picked up
over the last three week's. We have gotten a lot of good
reports of nice sized northern's being caught and the
big pond has produced a lot fo huge musky's as of late.
Try fishing the breakline area's from Myr Mar to Knox
Point or try fishing Knox Point to the east. Some lures
that have been producing as of late are Lindy Buck-boo's
or Northland Boobie Trap's.
As always, for up to the minute fishing reports, to book
a guided fishing trip, or for any bait or tackle that
you may need stop in and see Sara, Kurt, Matt, or the
rest of the gang at Tutt's Bait and Tackle.
Remember now is
the time to book your summer guided fishing trips. Give
us a call now to reserve the dates you would like so
they're not booked up.
Have a great day on the water
